Let’s face it most of us would love to have a pleasant scenting home. Particularly if you work at your home. In most cases it’s not enough to simply clean your home and open the windows Sometimes, we need an indestructible scent that can fill your home with something we cherish. Many people resort to scent-laden candles as well as wax melts.
But, what’s better? burning a traditional candle or using a wax melt? This is why I’m here to offer you five reasons to pick wax melts instead of candles.
1. Wax melts are typically less expensive than candles.
Because candles require more ingredients to make than melts of wax, it usually means they’re also more costly. In general, candles need wax. But don’t tell me that! I’m sure melts also do! As well as the other elements that melts require, such as scent oil, and maybe some kind of color. Candles are also required to have a container as well as an incense wick. Both can add considerable cost to the expense.
A glass container to hold a candle will always cost more than a melt of wax that has been removed from moulds or placed in an enveloping.
2 – You are able to reduce the environmental impact of your activities by using wax melts
This is directly related to the main reason why you should think about candle melts rather than candles by reducing the amount of materials used and also decrease the environmental impact.
It’s 2022 and we’re all doing our best to limit our impact on the Earth in the least amount possible. Are wax melts completely green? No, of course they aren’t. Absolutely nothing is. Everything needs materials, transportation and, in some way, increasing a person’s carbon footprint. However, if they are sourced properly the melts of wax can be less harmful to the environmental sphere than candles.
Naturally, some wax melts are packaged in clamshells that are usually not recyclable. This is why it’s best to buy wax melts that have the least amount of packing, recyclable bags or recyclable clamshells for wax melts.
3. Wax melts typically offer a greater scent diffusion than candles do.
I’ll make my opinion regarding this at the outset I’m of the opinion that candles fail to give a nice scent throw. I don’t see any need to use candles for fragrance , since I don’t think they offer much. They generally are smaller in melt pool but even when you do find a bigger pool, the candle is melted in a way that’s incredibly and then leaves a lot of wax on the sides that needs to be cut.
It could be that I’ve been buying cheap candles. And in all fairness, we had one Jo Malone one once (I know, proper posh Bastards) and it was amazing! But I’m not going to pay these costs when I could purchase – or even make – an melt instead!
4. Wax melts may be more safe for use with children
The benefit of melting contrast to candles is in their simplicity. They are able to be used with no flame. Of course, lots of prefer an old-fashioned flame-based burner however the option of using an electric burner is also an option. You have an option of melting burners with a melt as opposed to candles.
An electric burner will reduce the risk of a fire arising in the event that the child falls on an electric burner. Of course, candles are best kept away from the child’s reach, however there are times when accidents occur. Thus, using an electric stove is safer as opposed to the open flame from candles.
5 – Candles generate more waste than melts of wax
Have you ever bought a huge candle and then been ecstatic to start it? After a few hours it’s either mushroomed or you’ve got a ton of unutilized wax on over the side of the candles because the burn pool runs through the wax? Sure, there are strategies and tips to use to stop these issues but the fact remains that candles are more prone to wasting wax than melts have ever.
In addition, there’s also the environmental impact from the materials that are used. That’s something I’m sure I’ve already covered, so I’ll just leave it at that.
It is important to determine what you are looking for before deciding on the wax melt or candle
Before you decide whether or not you prefer either a candle or a candle, you need to decide what you would like out of the item. Candles for me have one main function: LIGHT!
In winter, I am a sucker for burning candles rather than turning on the main lights. This is why we generally use long stick candles or tea-lights that are placed in wax melters. I’ve not seen candles that are great to add a strong smell to your home. They do come with a great cold throw but the hot throw isn’t anything compared to a good wax melt.
